Abstract:

Neovascular glaucoma (NVG) is a refractory, secondary glaucoma. Its cause is complex and diverse. At present, NVG conventional treatment effect is not ideal, most to take temporary solution without a permanent cure. Anti-VEGF drug application is to provide valuable time window for anti-glaucoma surgery. This article proposed the establishment of comprehensive treatment of NVG strategy. The comprehensive treatment methods include the use of antihypertensive drugs, intraocular injection of anti-VEGF drugs, anti-glaucoma surgery alone or combined cataract extraction, vitrectomy and on the basis of completepanretinal photocoagulation treatment. The etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of NVG are summarized. The major purpose of treatment is to preserve the visual function of patients with NVG. The goal of treatment is to complete panretinal photocoagulation. The key means of treatment are anti-VEGF and anti-glaucoma surgery in order to save the patient residual visual function.
